Youth Guides (Ages 14–17)

 2024 APPLICATION PERIOD BEGINS MARCH 1, 2024

Summer Youth Crew (July-August) 15-20 hours/week.

DCL Youth Guides (previously called Youth Crew) learn valuable job skills as junior guides on the MV Teal, assist with lake study and educational programs, and may pursue personal projects related to their areas of interest. We anticipate hiring approximately 5 first-year Youth Guides and two second year Youth Guides in 2024.

Applications and questions may be submitted directly to us via email. However, first time candidates seeking a paid position must apply through one of the following local youth employment programs. Submit a separate application to the program that seems best for you, and note that in your correspondence with us.

• Learn more and/or apply for the Tompkins County Youth Employment Program (income based program for all Tompkins County residents)

• Learn more and/or apply for Ithaca Youth Bureau Youth Employment Services (open to youths in Ithaca, Lansing and Trumansburg)

If you are hoping to return as a second year Youth Guide, please submit a letter of interest and/or brief resume and one personal reference to bill@discovercayugalake.com.
