About The organization
Discover Cayuga Lake Boat Cruises, Charters and Education Programs
Come Discover the beauty of Cayuga Lake with us! From May-October, we offer public cruises, private charters, and Floating Classroom experiences for students, on Cayuga Lake. Our boat, the MV Teal is based out of the Allan H. Treman State Park Marina, at the southern end of the lake, in gorges Ithaca, NY.
We serve communities throughout the Cayuga Lake watershed through our educational programs and community cruises and events. Our school based, Trout in the Classroom Program, inspires nearly 2,000 children to learn and care about our lake throughout the academic year. When you cruise with us you help support these efforts!
Discover Cayuga Lake is a nonprofit organization based in Ithaca, NY. Since 2003, we’ve provided hands-on learning opportunities in the interest of sustaining the Finger Lakes waterways for future generations. Our mission is to cultivate informed and equitable relationships between people and the watersheds upon which they depend and we do all this while providing memorable, enriching experiences on beautiful Cayuga Lake. Please join us for the ride!
It was a beautiful, interesting, informative, and peaceful evening! We were tourists in our own town, choosing this experience to enjoy my 30th anniversary,

Public Tours & Private Charters
The perfect way to experience the magic of the Finger Lakes is on the open water! We offer a variety of interpretive lake cruises, private charters and special events highlighting the ecology, culture and natural history of the Finger Lakes on board our boat, the M/V Teal.
Educational Programs
Education is what we do! Discover Cayuga Lake is invested in environmental literacy, not only as part of a good education, but as a key to long term social justice and sustainability. Our primary focus is youth education. We offer classroom-to-lake educational experiences that give students hands-on learning experiences while also benefiting our local ecology.
Community Programs & Events
We are committed to creating opportunities for everyone to engage with Cayuga Lake, from specialty cruises and events for community members, to lake monitoring and volunteer opportunities. We’re dedicated to everyone having the opportunity to experience the joy and beauty of our region.
