Staff Positions

DCL offers an inclusive, friendly work environment for anyone ready to work on Cayuga Lake, to work with children and visitors to our region, and to support our mission.  (Click on position title.) 

 

  • INTERPRETIVE CREW   Positions tend to become available every year for our boat-based season, May-October.
    Positions are 20-40 hours/week. Crew are trained to perform duties as deck hands, hosts and narrators for our public cruises, as instructors for our educational programming, and may take on additional duties. A general background in boating, environmental science and/or education is a plus but not all are required.   We generally hire in March-April, but you are welcome to inquire at any time.

  • SEASONAL CAPTAINS (May-Oct.)  We are always looking for qualified captains. Captains must have a USCG 50 Ton or over certification.
  • INTERNS AND YOUTH GUIDES – Every summer we hire several young adult interns and teenage youth to learn about what we do and lend a hand. Click below for more information.
